SHWA has been at the forefront of girls wrestling since the club’s inception. SHWA has helped produce state champions, national champions and we have had U15 World Team Members the past two consecutive years. The success of our girls is based on not putting girls in a corner and ignoring them, but treating them as any other wrestler in the club. Our boys have made our girls better and our girls have made our boys better.

That said, the time has come for girls and boys to have their own spaces to train at the middle school and high school level. This will help continue to grow both programs and allow for more specific training - namely our girls will have more freestyle exposure as the major competitions outside of the Winter folkstyle season are freestyle and college women’s wrestling is all freestyle.
